The 700 square foot cabin is a cozy little retreat from the everyday hustle and bustle. Relax on the porch swing or take a nap in the hammock. Deer and turkey can be spotted from the cabin. Plenty of games and books are provided for those rainy days. Located just 2 miles from the Quemahoning Dam; fishing, mountain biking, kayaking and paddle boarding are only minutes away. There is plenty to do and see in the laurel highlands. Visit the Flight 93 Memorial, located just 6 miles away. Or take a hike in one of the many state parks located less than 20 miles from the cabin. Close to Laurel Mountain Ski Resort, Seven Springs, and Hidden Valley. This is a rustic cabin updated with most modern amenities, but there is no TV and no WiFi. There is cell service, but I urge you to break away from the busy world during your stay. Explore the land around the cabin, watch wildlife from the porch, take a peaceful nap in the hammock, or build a bonfire. Take in all that nature has to offer. The cabin sits in the middle of 26 acres. Guests can explore the entire property. The loft area is currently off limits to guests. Please do not use the loft or the spiral staircase leading up to it. This cabin is small but cozy. It sleeps up to 5 with two bunk beds and a twin bed. Located on the Raytown Branch of Juniata River were just 4 miles from Shawnee State Park and Bedford is a short drive as well. You are welcome to make a campfire, take a walk, go biking or spend the day fishing. Since the cabin is located in our family farm campground there's likely to be other campers around as well. Our farm is located just next to the camp. We raise cattle and sheep, chickens and geese, and we grow seasonal produce as well. Our farm to table restaurant is just 3 miles away. The Kooser-Ankney Homestead (circa 1832) is a colonial farmhouse listed on the Somerset County (PA) Historic Register that has been lovingly restored. Located on 16 acres in Somerset, PA, the property has convenient access to Seven Springs (7 miles), Hidden Valley (6 miles), and Laurel Hill State Park (4 miles). It is the perfect place to have a family gathering, enjoy a long weekend or celebrate a special occasion. The home features 4 original wood burning fireplaces and 2 gas fireplaces in the guest rooms. During warmer months, there is an outdoor fire pit for evenings filled with stargazing. Firewood is provided for guests. The home has three formal bedrooms, two sleeper sofas in the living room and one sleeper sofa in the library. There is a 65" TV in the living room and a 42" TV in the library, with Bose surround sound. The library also features plenty of books and board games (and even a rolling book shelf ladder). There are three bathrooms to include a corner Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. A front load washer and dryer are available, and towels and linens are included with the rental. The home is equipped with WiFi and satellite TV. The chef's kitchen includes granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a gas stove, and two large sinks for meal preparation. An outdoor propane grill is located on the front porch with convenient access to the kitchen. The dining room has a large table that seats the entire family and is handcrafted from old beams found in the historic barn. Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with farmers, ranchers, and other property owners to offer unique outdoor accommodations on beautiful private land. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! As a general rule, Tentrr campsites do not have access to electricity and cell service may be hard to come by. You'll have the entire campsite to yourself, as you'll be the only Campers enjoying this piece of paradise. Each campsite includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed inside (each site is different, see photos for the exact setup). Larger groups can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided (you’re welcome to bring your own camping gear too). You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. Line the bucket with a CleanWaste bag supplied at the camp (or another appropriate plastic bag) prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry! Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. Camping during Covid-19: Tentrr campsites have always been the perfect solution for getting away from it all. This home is on very private land and not near many people. Our occupancy limit at the Lodge is 8 adults maximum; 4 minor children maximum...for a total of 12 guests. We keep a strict occupancy limit of 12 guests maximum including children of all ages to adhere to national fire safety codes. Also, we strictly disallow inviting additional day or overnight visitors to the home beyond the agreed upon group size as indicated on the Rental Agreement. We do not permit "In Garage" parking. We use the garage for storage of property maintenance equipment that we may need to access in a weather emergency. All reservations must include at least two weekend nights or midweek discount rates do not apply and revert back to our base rate of $600.00 per night. All holiday weekends require a minimum stay of 3 nights. Rentals that include Christmas or New Years require a minimum stay of 5 nights. All 6 or 7 night stays require a Friday arrival. As part of our Rental Agreement we require all adult guests to sign a Liability Waiver...the same type you sign at a chain motel, doctor/dentist office or a bike/canoe rental. To validate the Liability Waiver, identity authentication is required. Each adult guest must scan a clear and legible copy of their current, state issued, Driver's License Photo ID on the back of the Liability Waiver. All required documents must be received by the home owners no later then 10 days prior to arrival. Therefore, all reservations must be made at least 14 days before the arrival date. Serenity Falls is a turn of the century farm house that has been completely remodeled and updated and is now a guesthouse that is 6 miles from Seven Springs Mountain Resort and 9 miles from Hidden Valley Ski Resort. The focal point inside of our mountain home is a 22 foot sunken Great room with a large eight foot Seven Springs style stone log burning fireplace with key starter for propane to help start the fire!!!  The brand new black walnut wood furniture dining room overlooks the great room and is adjacent to the spacious country kitchen with brand new hickory cabinets and new countertops. Our Mountain home is very peaceful and serene whether it is spring, summer, fall or winter. The side and back decks are a great place to relax and enjoy cook-outs with friends and family. We also have exterior speakers for our stereo system to enjoy music on the deck or by the fire ring when the children are roasting marshmallows or making s'mores. A new addition to the backyard landscape is a 34 foot two sided waterfall that is operational from May to Oct 31. This is very soothing and serene. Another addition to our mountain landscape is a very relaxing arbor, a perfect location to watch the sunset and get a great view of the 34 foot waterfall. Plants have been added to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.Take a walk to the top of the hill and experience some fantastic views of the countryside. You may even see some deer if you go at the right time!! Winter takes on a completely different look and feel. The cottage is nested right along Dunnings Creek which is perfect for the Kayak enthusiast. The cottage boasts a beautiful open floor plan with a full kitchen and all appliances which opens to a great room with a large flat screen and 2 couches for your comfort. A juke-box in the corner of the room for use is perfect for that romantic evening or fun night with guests. Off the great room and kitchen is the main bedroom with a queen size bed and flat screen tv. Our home is located on the 17th green of the Hidden Valley Golf Course and a 10 minute walk to the slopes! 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom, large loft and large outside deck with amazing views! This is a great space for a golf weekend, family ski weekend or just to get away for a nice relaxing atmosphere. We are also a short drive to 7 Springs, giving plenty of entertainment options for friends and family. The house has been updated with brand new carpet in all bedrooms as well as new bed frames, mattresses and smart TV's in every room. The entire house inside and outside has been repainted, as well as the deck re-finished. We have added brand new appliances to the kitchen, updated the bathrooms, new grille and added many more updates throughout the house. Firewood included for every stay!
